“Such wild flowers as white and yellow and blue violets, tiger lilies, blue bells, buttercups, bouncing bet, white daisies, golden rod, black-eyed susans, and dandilions grew in abundance on the road banks and along the fences separating the fields” (Hannum, p. 22).

The Trimble Family owned this tract of land from the late 1760s. William Trimble owned 104 acres of land in 1772, and the acreage stayed relatively the same until it was sold for development in 1996 to become what is now known as the Concord Woods neighborhood. The farm was known as “Huntingdon Farm” under the ownership of Dr. Michael Barrett in the 1930s and as “Crosswinds Farm” under the Edwards family ownership in the 1950s.

Today, this farmland is almost entirely developed with neighborhoods. The historic Nicklin-Trimble Home remains intact and won a Delaware County Preservation Award in 2000.
