The Black Walnut
Moses Palmer-William Hannum House
387 Concord Road
“The constant clinking of the chains around the cows’ necks, their gentle mooing, the neighing and pawing of the horses, and the cackle and chatter of the chickens, ducks, guineas, and turkeys in the barnyard were all friendly and pleasant sounds” (Hannum, p. 16).
According to the 1911 map of Concord Township, this barn was located directly behind the Moses Palmer-William Hannum House.
All that remains of the Black Walnut barn today is the foundation. The barn was dismantled sometime prior to 1975 , as it is not seen in any photographs of the house after this time.
