Leedom's Mill
Leedom’s Mill/1st Concord Mill
124 Thornton Road
Demolished in 1928
“The mill was a wonderful place, and I would stand in it enchanted, watching the machinery operate” (Hannum, p. 50).
Leedom’s Mill, also known as Concord Mill, was built in 1694 and used as a small grist mill for area farmers. The mill was located across Thornton Road from the present-day Pyle – Leedom House, adjacent to the Pyle – Leedom Tenant house, and along a creek known as Deborah’s Run. Leedom’s Mill was demolished in 1928. Today, a stone-tenant house and the Pyle - Leedom House across the road remain.
